Pirita Virtanen was elected as President of the Harvard Club of Finland. She is the first woman to serve as President and the fifth President of the Club overall.
"I am particularly mindful of the significance of this role, as the first woman to serve as President and the fifth President overall in the Club’s history. It is a privilege to take on this responsibility and to serve a community that brings together distinguished alumni across disciplines and generations."
Pirita follows in the footsteps of those who have contributed significantly to strengthening the Club’s role in Finland, and approaches this role with both respect for that work and a clear sense of responsibility for what lies ahead.
Her focus will be on fostering meaningful connections within the alumni network, supporting future applicants from Finland, and continuing to build a strong and active community around shared values of excellence, curiosity, and impact.
"I look forward to working closely with the Board and our members in advancing these goals. Thank you for your trust."
